The Amsterdam Card is a special card, which enables you to use all public transport for free, offers free entrance to many museums and a free canal boat tour.
The cost of a “I Amsterdam Card” valid for 24 hours is EUR 33.00
The cost of a “I Amsterdam Card” valid for 48 hours is EUR 43.00
The cost of a “I Amsterdam Card” valid for 72 hours is EUR 43.00
-Trams: provide the best way to get around Amsterdam. You can buy a “Strippenkaart”, a blue card available in strips of 15 and 45, which is valid for trams, buses and metro. “Strippenkaarts” can be purchased in post offices, newspaper shops and train station ticket offices. They cannot be used on night buses.

Trams run regularly until 12.15 am, when the last tram leaves from the Central Station. See the map of the tram network.
There are many buses running during the day and from midnight until 7.00 am. Some buses reach directly outlying suburbs.
The metro is one of the fastest way to reach the different areas of the city. See the metro map.
The main taxi stands are in Leidseplein, in Dam Square and at the Central Station. Taxis are not so cheap: rides cost € 1,50 per Km.
Bicycles are the best and fastes way for getting around Amsterdam. In order to rent a bicycle you can contact Macbike with 5 locations in the center of Amsterdam. MacBike Amsterdam Central Station East & MacBike Leidseplein are the main rental locations. For information: +31 20 620 09 85.
Althought driving in Amsterdam is not recommended because of expensive parking rates and because of various bans, you can cheaply rent a car on the website Auto Europe. Please remember that you cannot stop your car on the bridges over canals.
